7.		Surveying Principles for Civil Engineers: Review for the Engineering Surveying Section of the California Special Civil Engineer Examination, 2nd ed. from Professional Publications, Inc. Price: $84.75 Customer Review: I used this book to study for the April 2009 PE exam, and I passed the first time. This is much more helpful than the bigger PE study guides that only have short sections on Surveying. This book is still small and has an easy learning curve. 8.		Schaum's Outline of Introductory Surveying (Schaum's) from McGraw-Hill Price: $12.58 Customer Review: This book was required for a surveying class. It goes over basic techniques without any derivations. The material is dated, but still valid. Doesn't have anything about modern surveying equipment and techniques (GPS, total stations,...etc).
